In geometry, students begin by carefully defining geometric objects and build to discussions on area and perimeter of plane figures, plus volumes of simple solids. Students get a taste of number theory in their work with prime factorization and divisibility rules.

This introduction to the series invites students to become confident mathematics enthusiasts by introducing basic facts, explaining the not-so-basic operations that we use in our number system, and modeling excellent solutions.

Overview

This workbook is designed to help students strengthen the
basic knowledge that they need to master in the first semester of 6th grade.

 • To each topic in the 6A Textbook correspond selected problems in the workbook that every student
should be able to solve.

 • Some of the problems have a solution in the workbook and some have the beginning of a solution,
which the students need to complete.

• After working on such problems, students should be able to complete on their own the remaining problems

The workbook:

• highlights the basic knowledge in 6A Textbook;

• has a teaching component;

• helps students learn to organize and correctly write
solutions to problems;

• saves time in searching for more problems.

The workbook can be used:

• for independent work by the student;

• to assign homework;

• to conduct tests;

• for practical work with applications.

The worksheets come directly from the 6A textbook:

 • They consists of the examples from each lesson.

 • They have space for students’ solutions. The worksheets can be used:

 • for directed individual or group work in class.

The worksheets are designed to be used in tandem with the
textbook. In addition to completing these worksheets, the full solutions,
discussions, and remarks in the textbook should be carefully read and understood
by the student
